News ItemMandatory Unpaid Leave (MUL)

Dear Members,

It is with utter regret and sadness to learn that NCC are imposing the one dayís pay reduction in salary.

The Branch Chair and I fought really hard against the imposition of 2 days reduction and did manage, after a lengthy battle, to reduce that to 1 day as part of the pay negotiations. It was the then Interim Section 151 Officer (Damon Lawrenson) who would not back down on this and threatened the whole pay negotiations if we didnít accede to the 1 day. And now of course it is the Interim CEO (Damon Lawrenson) who is imposing this within a few weeks of office.

We at UNISON have tried and will keep trying to fight for all of you in NCC. You must make sure you have the leave and if any of you find yourselves in financial difficulty as a result of this then please call UNISON direct on 0800 0 857 857 or go to the main national website.

The fantastic team I have at the Branch work incredibly hard and will be here to support you as much as we can.

It is a very uncertain future that we are facing and I can only reiterate that we certainly do fight for you at all times and at all levels.

In Solidarity

Penny - Branch Secretary
